#RoadtripAroundOz | Longreach, QLD

And our next stop is Longreach, still regarded as an Outback town and located in pretty much the centre of the state.

Longreach is a medium sized town with a nice Main Street and of course the well known Stockman’s Hall of Fame & Qantas Founders Museum.

We arrived at Longreach Tourist Park in our ute and ready to pitch the tent. While at the Reception we had a look through some of the tours which were offered and decided on a Package which got us into both museums and also onto a Sunset River Cruise with Liveshow.

If I could have I would have stayed in Longreach permanently! The people are so lovely and having a Stockman in his long shirt, jeans and Akubra hat stand behind me at the Post Office made my jaw drop (almost like a little kid meeting their favourite celebrity!😂). Of course there are just normal people but the way they work in remote isolated stations – through sweat, blood and tears makes you really appreciate the work they do, one tend to show a lot more respect. Their stories are inspirational + full of pride.🙏🏻

For anyone ever visiting Longreach, stay a few nights! Do the station tours, visit the museums and book yourself in for the Drovers River Sunset Cruise with Outback Aussie Tours at Smithy’s – they are absolutely wonderful and you will really have the best time enjoying a cruise on the Thomson River, a two course meal some damper and a cup of tea all while being entertained by the incredible John Hawkes!

Greetings from Us to you while I finish writing this blog post and enjoy the beautiful sunset and glass of wine on this magnificent cruise ✨🌅⛵️
