Bright, Victoria

From the nice scenic drives up North, arriving in Bright, Victoria was one of those super exciting and relaxing days this Winter. With temperatures plummeting and the cold fronts picking up we were lucky enough with beautiful warm weather and a sunny day, trying to get the most of those nice ray’s of sunshine. ūüėä
We arrived early to make the most of this day so decided to head to the local farmers market, although small and situated alongside the Ovens river in addition providing beautiful scenic walking trails (Cherry and Canyon Walks we highly recommend! The history behind the town is incredible even your kids will love it) in addition to the Main Street and multiple shops also within walking reach.

Of course Food locations are always the most serious question any travel or visitor to a town will ask you at any given moment so be prepared to list the good stuff!!! ūüėČ

It was a very memorable day and as it is a beautiful location makes it worth visiting time and time again!

Until next time,

When the Countryside calls …

The beautiful crisp mornings make the days so much better, despite the early mornings we decided to be on the road by just to 8 am, taking the back roads and dodging any possible wildlife as well as seeing the many cattle and horses grazing on the paddocks we soon made our way to Violet Town in the State’s North East.

Violet Town was again playing host to the incredible farmers market,  which happen to occur so many times a month, a year. It is so worth checking them out for any collectables, farming equipment, fashion and of course the fruit and vegetable stalls.

We drove through Benalla and then into Violet Town, many had already taken the parking places which were available but not to worry, we are young/fit/healthy so we walked a little further to the market.

It was such a great experience and being able to have a chat to the individual sellers / growers made it more worthwhile.

Ideas for your upcoming weekend

Cant wait for the weekend?

Don’t we all feel some sort of relief when it finally comes to that Friday Night when the clock strikes 5PM and we are rushing home to then tear of our work clothes, relax, make a nice dinner, have a movie night with your significant other or get a few friends over for a catch up.Those two days of the week that allow us to ‘let our hair down’, in the sense that we simple do not have to be all dressed up and act professional.

Being able to make the most of the weekend such as a nice hike or fitness class, lunches, bike rides, road trips the list goes on. I got whisked away on a beautiful picnic just yesterday, we spent it at Emerald Lake Park, for those of you not familiar with the location – it is located in the heart of Emerald (East Gippsland Victoria, AU).

With the rays of sunshine falling upon us, blue skies and the smell of nature with Puffing Billy going past, kids splashing in the outdoor pool + musicians singing in the background, it really could not get any better. The food was delicious and our picnic spot was so beautiful among the Ferns and Oak trees.

Emerald Lake Park certainly has something for everyone, from fishing to walking tracks, paddle boats, various picnic grounds including the iconic Puffing Billy Steam Train. The Park also has numerous wheelchair and pram friendly paths which provide access to various facilities and activities in the Park.

Enjoy your fun day out.
